Staten Island Firecracker 3 Mile Run & 1 Mile Walk
The Staten Island Firecracker 3 Mile Run and 1 Mile Walk takes place in Conference House Park, Staten Island. This annual event serves as the second leg of the Staten Island Triple Crown, a series that also includes the SSG Michael Ollis 5K Run and the Michael’s Cause 5K Run. The course for the run and walk begins and ends within the park grounds at 7455 Hylan Blvd.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 3 Mile Run
- 1 Mile Walk
- 50 Yard Run
The 1 Mile Walk is a dog-friendly event. For younger participants, there is a 50 yard run designated for children aged 6 and under, where all finishers receive a medal. Awards for the 3 Mile Run include recognition for the top three male and female finishers, as well as team plaques for the fastest male and female teams based on the scores of the three fastest members.
The event supports the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Proceeds and donations contribute to programs that provide mortgage-free smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, as well as housing support for Gold Star families and the families of fallen first responders.
Registration options are available for individual races or as part of a discounted Triple Crown package. Age group categories for the run span from age 1 to 80 and up. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
