Stately Trails: Constable Burton
The event takes place at Constable Burton Hall, a Grade I listed Georgian house set within formal and woodland gardens in Wensleydale. The course runs on estate trails and offers a choice of running distances and a walking option across pasture, farm tracks and woodland.
- 5km race
- 10km race
- 5km walk
The 5km route is a single lap. The 10km uses a second lap that is altered to add variety. Runners will encounter single track sections and a stream crossing where a bridge is available or runners may choose to go through the water. The surface is described as fairly flat by the organiser but can be muddy and uneven in places, so trail shoes are recommended. There is no mandatory kit listed.
Course wayfinding will use orange barrier tape, pin flags and coloured arrow signs. Marshals will staff critical turns and road crossings, but participants are responsible for knowing the route and a map may be useful in case markings are moved. One water station serves the 10km at the start of the second lap and water is available for 5km runners at the finish. Toilets are available at Race HQ. Parking is on an estate field that may be muddy and can hold livestock.
Entry is limited to 200 runners. Age minimums apply: 16 plus for 10km and 13 plus for 5km. Prices include a one pound donation to the National Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
