Event overview
DalesRunner 30 takes place on 4 July 2026 with race HQ at Usha Gap Campsite, Muker. The circular, fully marked route is 31.7 km (19.7 miles) with an ascent of almost 3,000 ft. The course follows the Coast to Coast path to Ravenseat, crosses upland moor to the Tan Hill Inn, returns via a section of the Pennine Way, climbs Swinner Gill and descends through Gunnerside Gill to finish near the Rampsholme footbridge in Muker. Surfaces include grassy trods, slabbed sections, hard-packed footpath, shooting tracks and a few short road sections. A GPX file and PDF map are available.
Logistics and requirements
Entry is limited to 200 runners. The event has an age limit of 18+ to enter. Standard entry fees are £32 for affiliated runners and £34 for unaffiliated runners; entries open 22 October 2025 and close 28 June 2026. The event provides staffed aid stations offering water, Active Root, sweet and savoury food and a small selection of electrolyte drinks; aid stations do not supply disposable cups and marshals can assist with refilling. Post-race refreshments include a hot drink, vegetable soup and a roll. Mandatory kit includes taped-seam waterproof jacket and trousers, hat or buff, gloves, emergency blanket or bivvy bag, a cup or soft flask, minimum 500 ml water and a fully charged mobile phone. Parking and registration are in a field adjacent to the campsite; portable toilets are at the car park and there are no toilet facilities at the start or finish.
