Resilience and Community at Cooper River Park

The Starting Point 5K and 1-Mile Walk is an annual community event held in Camden County at Cooper River Park. The event starts at the Piazza at the Park on North Park Drive and serves as a gathering to support mental wellness and recovery. Proceeds from the event benefit a nonprofit organization that provides access to counseling, addiction recovery, and support groups.

Participants can choose between two main distances:

  • 5K Run
  • 1 Mile Walk

The 5K takes place on a USATF-certified course and features professional chip timing. Top performers are recognized with awards for the top three male and female runners overall based on gun time. Additionally, age group awards are provided for the top three male and female finishers in brackets ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over, based on net time.

Participants receive their time and pace data via text message shortly after crossing the finish line, and a finish line video is recorded. Results are posted at the race site and online on the day of the event. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at a local running store in Haddonfield. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
