Stafford Animal Shelter "Barks & Brews" 5K Fun Run & Doggie Walk
The event is a community fundraising 5K run and doggie walk held in Livingston on August 17, 2026. The course winds through the historic streets of downtown and begins at The Owl Lounge, with post‑race refreshments and food available at the finish area. Paid participants receive an ice cold beer from The Owl Lounge and a burger and chips from Yellowstone Bank. Event t-shirts are provided to paid runners by Small Dog Realty, and The Spur Line provides raffle prizes. Non-participants may join the refreshments and food for an admission fee of $15.00. Registration for the event opens on June 25 and closes on August 16; preregistration is recommended and day‑of check‑in is available at the start line.
The event donates 100% of proceeds to Stafford Animal Shelter. Stafford is an open door shelter that accepts every pet in need regardless of species, breed, age or medical condition, provides veterinary care and shelter without time limits, and has served Montana since 1999. The organization is a 501c3 nonprofit that relies on annual fundraising and donations to support its operations and programs such as adoptions, reunions, humane education and community outreach.
Leashed dogs on non retractable leashes and families are welcome. Wagons and bicycles are asked to remain at the back of the group. If temperatures exceed 70 degrees, participants are asked to leave dogs at home. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
