The Yellowstone Independence Day 5k is a 5 km run/walk event held on July 4, 2026 in Livingston, Montana. It is the third annual edition and is organized as a fundraiser by the Yellowstone Running Club.
Event Details
The event starts and finishes at historic Sacajawea Park, located next to the Yellowstone River. The race features chip timing, an updated route, and t-shirts for participants who register by June 20. A water aid station is located approximately halfway through the course.
Registration and Logistics
Registration is available online until the evening of July 3, with same-day registration available at the start location. The standard registration price is $35, with a special rate of $15 for ages 6-12 and free entry for ages 0-5. The price increases to $40 starting July 1, 2026, while kids' prices remain unchanged. Bib pickup occurs at the park's New Picnic Shelter on the north side before the event.
Post-Race and Proceeds
Bottled water and snacks are provided after the race. All proceeds support the Yellowstone Running Club's mission to promote running and walking wellness and to fund youth cross country teams from Park County for attendance at regional championship races.
