Yellowstone Independence Day 5k
The Yellowstone Independence Day 5k is an annual community run and walk held in Livingston, Montana, at Sacajawea Park beside the Yellowstone River. The event includes a single 5K distance and uses chip timing provided by Muddy Dog Sports.
Registration opens in mid 2025 with early bird pricing available through June 30, 2026. Standard entry is listed at $35 and the entry fee increases on July 1, 2026; youth entry prices do not increase. Participants who register by June 20 are guaranteed a t shirt. Same day registration is available near the start area.
Proceeds support the Yellowstone Running Club mission to promote running and walking and to assist local youth cross country runners with travel to regional championship events. The event features raffle prizes, a prize for decorated strollers, post race bottled water and snacks, and a water aid station approximately halfway along the course.
Dogs are not permitted in Sacajawea Park by city ordinance. The race starts and finishes at the park and is organized as a fundraiser for local youth running and club activities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
