Event overview
The Yellowstone Independence Day 5k is a third annual run/walk fundraiser held on July 4, 2026 in Livingston, Montana. The event is organized by the Yellowstone Running Club and starts at Sacajawea Park next to the Yellowstone River. Proceeds support the Yellowstone Running Club mission and help the Park County youth cross country team attend regional championship races.
Logistics and race features
The event includes an updated route, event t-shirts, chip timing provided by Muddy Dog Sports, and raffle prizes. Participants who register by June 20 are guaranteed a t-shirt. Early bird pricing runs through June 30; the listed entry fee is $35 and increases to $40 starting July 1. Kids prices do not increase. Online registration closes on July 3 and same-day registration is available at the start line. A course map is provided as a PDF. Post-race provisions include bottled water and snacks, and a water aid station is located approximately halfway through the course. Dogs are not allowed in Sacajawea Park per City of Livingston rules. Bib pickup and event check-in take place at the Sacajawea Park new picnic shelter on the north side of the park.
