About the race
The St. Paddy’s Leprechaun event at Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg offers timed road races and a virtual option. The organiser partners with the EOD Warrior Foundation. Points from these races count toward the organiser’s Year-Long series and Winter Series, including the Back of the Pack series.
Distances include:
- 1-Miler
- 5 km
- 10 km
The course uses a paved path that runs alongside the Rappahannock River and includes a few small hills. The 5k course is out-and-back; the 10k repeats the 5k route twice. Water stations are placed along the courses: five stations on the 10k at approximately mile markers 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1 and 5.2, and two stations on the 5k at approximately mile markers 1 and 2.1. Gatorade is available at some water stations.
Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical event shirt when registered by the guarantee date, and chip timing. Live results are available during the event and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Packet pickup is available at the venue and volunteers are assigned roles on race morning. The organiser posts photos after the event and runs a social media photo challenge with a 50 percent discount prize for the selected post.
