Gosh Darn Goddard 5k & 10k
The event takes place at Goddard State Park marina and uses an out and back shaded course on the bike trail. It includes both in-person and virtual options and is the sixth race of the Miles of Smiles series.
Distances offered:
- 5 km run or walk
- 5 km walk only
- 10 km run
- 5 km virtual option
Prize money is awarded to the overall male and female 10 km winners. All 10 km finishers receive homemade wooden finisher medals. A newly designed 2026 race shirt has been ordered in multiple sizes.
Awards and placing are specified by division and age group. Trophy awards go to the top 1 in each age group with medals for second place in some categories. Specific awards include top placements for 5 km walk and 5 km run divisions and top placements by age for the 10 km division.
Food is provided after the event with items such as hot dogs, BBQ sandwiches, pasta salad, fruit salad, and cookies served at a pavilion. Music and the national anthem will be part of the event program. Raffle prizes are also offered. Virtual runners are accommodated in the event structure.
