12th Annual St. Louis Turkey Trot
The St. Louis Turkey Trot is a chip-timed running event held in Forest Park. The course is entirely on paved roads, starting and finishing at the Upper Muny Parking Lot on Summit Drive. This event is part of the Missouri Runs Race Series and is also associated with the nationwide Thankful Turkey Run/Walk, which aggregates results from various locations into a national leaderboard.
Participants can choose from several categories and distances:
- 8 km run
- 5 km run
- Kids Dash
- Virtual run option
The 8 km distance has a course time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes, while the 5 km distance has a limit of 1 hour and 20 minutes. All water stations along the routes provide water. The event takes place rain, snow, or shine.
Registered participants receive their choice of event gear, which includes a classic t-shirt or a thin-tec soft polyester pullover. Finishers are provided with Strange Donuts at the end of the race. The event supports Best Buddies, a nonprofit organization dedicated to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Awards are presented to the top three male and female participants in multiple age categories, ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over.
Strollers are permitted for walkers and joggers but must start at the back of the corral. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
