About the race
The St. Joseph School Grateful Gobble Gallop Fun Run & 5K is an inaugural running event held in downtown Ponchatoula at 255 N 8th Street, Ponchatoula, LA. The event offers both a short fun run and a 5K course that makes two laps through the downtown streets.
Distances:
- 1 mile fun run
- 5K (3.1 miles) two-lap course
One entry fee covers participation in both the fun run and the 5K. Every participant receives a medal. Competitive awards include 1st place male and female, fastest students in age groups (PreK–2nd, 3rd–5th, 6th–8th), fastest alumni, fastest SJS mom and dad, and a Spirit of the Race award. The event also offers a special prize for anyone who "beats the turkey" to the finish.
Support for participants includes complimentary snacks, water, and a hydration station on the course. Team discounts apply for groups of 8 or more.
