Hammond Rotary Shamrock Run
The Hammond Rotary Shamrock Run is a charity running event held at the Renaissance Festival grounds in Hammond, Louisiana (46468 River Rd, Hammond, LA 70401). The event offers multiple distances and uses roads around the festival grounds and a small lake, including a route through the Renaissance Village.
Available distances
- 1 Mile - 1-mile fun run; walkers welcome.
- 5K - 3.1 miles; walkers welcome.
- 10K - 6.2 miles; walkers not allowed.
Finisher medals are awarded to all 5K and 10K finishers. Competitive awards include top three overall male and female in the 5K and 10K, first place male and female in the 1-mile event, and first place in each age group for the 5K and 10K. Age groups for the 5K and 10K are 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+, with an additional 80+ age group for the 5K only.
Special recognitions include Best Costume, Biggest Team, a Biggest Fundraising Team prize, and the "Beat the Leprechaun" challenge in the 10K with Pot Of Gold prizes donated by sponsors. T-shirts are optional and available during checkout; sizes may be limited for late requests.
Packet pick-up is available before race day at a local State Farm Insurance office (304 Old Covington Hwy, Hammond, LA 70403) and on race morning. Race morning lines tend to be long. Parking is on the Renaissance Festival grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
