Event Overview
The Hammond Rotary Shamrock Run is a charity running event offering three distances: a 1 Mile, a 5K, and a 10K. It takes place at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival grounds on River Road in Hammond, Louisiana.
Courses
The 5K and 10K routes use roads around the festival grounds, go around a small lake, and pass through the Renaissance Village. Walkers are welcome in the 1 Mile and 5K events but are not permitted in the 10K due to time constraints.
Awards and Features
All 5K and 10K finishers receive a medal. Awards are given for the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K, first place in the 1 Mile, and first place in each age group. Special awards are presented for Best Costume and Biggest Team. The 10K features a "Beat the Leprechaun" challenge, where winners can select prizes from a sponsor-donated "Pot of Gold."
Logistics
Race day packet pickup begins at 7:00 AM. Parking is available on the Renaissance Festival grounds. Event t-shirts are optional and can be added during registration; registering by a specific date guarantees size availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
