Iredell County Special Olympics Ghoulish Gallop
The event is held at 1875 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC, on the Greenway. Proceeds benefit Iredell County Special Olympics. The event is stroller friendly and no dogs are allowed.

- 5K (Youth and Adult)
- 1 Mile (Youth and Adult)
Registration windows and fees are provided for each race category. Registration opens 11/28/2025. For the 5K races registration closes 10/12/2026; for the 1 mile races registration closes 10/26/2026. Fees listed by the organizer are $8.00 for 5K Youth, $15.00 for 5K Adult, $6.00 for 1 Mile Youth, and $12.00 for 1 Mile Adult. The first ten participants receive a free pair of Feetures socks.
Awards are given nightly for overall, masters, and five-year age groups. The race is part of the 2026 Championship Series. To be eligible for the Series Championship a competitor must compete in at least 10 of 15 races. Each additional race over 10 earns 1 extra point; completing all 15 races awards 5 extra points and a free race for 2027.
Points by place are specified: Overall 1st 12 points, Overall 2nd 10, Overall 3rd 9; Masters 1st 8, Masters 2nd 7, Masters 3rd 6; Age Group 1st 5, Age Group 2nd 4, Age Group 3rd 3; all other participants 2 points. Prize money for top five male and female Championship winners is listed as $60, $50, $40, $30, and $20 respectively. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
