Event Overview
The St. James 5 Mile Challenge and 5K Fun Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Saint James, New York. The main event hub and packet pickup location is Deepwells Farm at 2 Taylor Lane.
Event Distances
The event offers two main activities:
- 5 Mile Run: A certified and timed event.
- 5K Fun Run/Walk: An untimed activity.
There is also a free Vendor Village and Community Celebration open to everyone.
Course Description
The 5 mile course is described as having a varied terrain. It begins with an uphill climb for approximately half a mile before leveling off. The middle section features three miles of rolling hills through the scenic village of Head of the Harbor. The course includes a half-mile steep incline known as the Cordwood Path, followed by a flat finish.
Beneficiary
The event supports Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro. Proceeds from registration contribute to a capital campaign to build a new Ronald McDonald House at Stony Brook Children's hospital in Suffolk County.
Participant Information
Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at NexCycle Studios (430 N. Country Rd., St. James). On race day, packet pickup is at Deepwells Farm from 7:30 AM to 8:15 AM. Participants registered by April 23 are guaranteed an event t-shirt. The first 500 registrants receive a swag bag.
Participants can also sign up as individual fundraisers to earn incentives like a special edition sweatband or a branded towel. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
