Event overview
The 6th Annual Daniela's Butterfly 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run takes place on April 25, 2026 at Heckscher State Park, Field 2, East Islip, NY. The event is organized as an in-person and virtual 5K plus a kids fun run. Packet pickup is available on race day; participants are asked to arrive between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM for pickup. There is an $8 parking fee for arrivals after 8:00 AM.

Registration includes a keepsake bib, t-shirt and finisher medal while supplies last. Shirts and medals are guaranteed for the first 500 registrants; shirt sizes are not guaranteed. Virtual participants may upload times and photos on April 25 only. Shipped swag begins the Monday prior to the event.
Fees, awards and amenities
Registration fees use tiered pricing and increase by $5 on March 16 and again on April 25. The event provides refreshments, post-race snacks and entertainment, games, face painting, and an awards ceremony. Baby strollers and baby joggers are permitted on the course but must line up at the back. Overall trophies will be awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers. Quality medals will be given to the top three in male and female age groups ranging from 9-12 up through 80+.
Beneficiary
Proceeds benefit the Daniela Conte Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) childhood cancer foundation that provides financial and memorial support to families of children with cancer, raises awareness, and funds research. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
