St David's Day Run at Bute Park
The St David's Day Run is a multi-distance event held at Coopers Field in Bute Park, Cardiff. The programme includes a mini run for children and road race distances around the park, with lap-based timing and split times provided for each lap.
Distances on the course include:
- 5k one lap
- 10k two laps
- Half marathon four laps plus an additional 1.1 km loop
- Mini run for children
The course runs on paved paths and is described as flat; road running shoes are recommended. The route is suitable for buggies and is wheelchair friendly. Organisers note the course may be altered up to event day if necessary. Marshals will be positioned around the route and runners are asked to keep left unless otherwise directed, as the course uses public land.
Every entrant receives chip on bib timing, lap split times, a high quality medal, and on-site drinks and refreshments. A donation from each entry fee is allocated to Cancer Research Wales and Kidney Wales, and limited charity places are available. Event facilities include toilets at Coopers Field and a bag storage area next to the registration tents; space for bags is limited. Parking is available in and around the park but there is no parking within Bute Park. The event hub is located at Coopers Field. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
