Event Overview
MoRun Cardiff takes place in Bute Park, specifically located in Coopers Field. This event is part of a national series that supports the Movember charity, raising funds and awareness for men's health issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. The course consists primarily of flat tarmac paths and is accessible for wheelchair users, buggy running, and participants with dogs.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 1.5k Mini MoRun (for children)
- 5k (one lap of the course)
- 10k (two laps of the course)
- Half Marathon (one initial 1.1 km loop followed by four full laps)
Participant Experience
All races are chip-timed, providing runners with both gun times and net times immediately upon crossing the finish line. The event hub includes registration tents, limited bag storage, and toilet facilities. A group warm-up with music is provided before the start.
Event Features
Every registered runner receives a finisher medal and a dedicated MoRunning headband, which is collected at registration. Water and snacks, such as sweets, are provided at the finish line. Beyond the standard finisher medals, bonus "Mo Medals" are awarded for categories such as the best-dressed participant, the fastest runners, and the "best Mo."
