Cardiff Cross Challenge 2026
The Cardiff Cross Challenge is scheduled for 8 November 2026 at Llandaff Fields, Pontcanna, Cardiff CF11 9HZ. The event is organised by Welsh Athletics Ltd and holds a Silver Label in the World Athletics Cross Country Tour. It is the first fixture in the UK Cross Challenge Series and takes place two weeks before the European Long Course Trials in Liverpool.
The programme includes elite and age-group races plus Primary School Races held in conjunction with Urdd Gobaith Cymru. Welsh schools athletes enter via the URDD entry portal; non Welsh schools athletes use the event entry system. The entry deadline is Thursday 29 October 2026 at 23:59 when entries auto close.
Course distances and entry fees are listed as follows:
- U10 Boys & Girls (Yr 3 & 4): 1,250m - Entry fee £6.00
- U12 Boys & Girls (Yr 5 & 6): 1,250m - Entry Fee £6.00
- U14 Boys & Girls (Yr 7 & 8): 2,780m - Entry Fee £10.00
- U16 Boys & Girls (Yr 9 & 10): 3,200m - Entry Fee £10.00
- U18/20 Women (yr 11-12-13+): 4,450m - Entry Fee £10.00
- U18/U20 Men (Yr 11-12-13-14): 5,560m - Entry Fee £10.00
- Senior Women & Masters: 6,400m - Entry Fee £13.00
- Senior Men & Masters: 9,600m - Entry Fee £13.00
