St David's Day Run
St David's Day Run takes place on 1 March 2026 at Coopers Field in Bute Park, Cardiff CF103DX. The event offers a range of distances around the park and uses the event hub at Coopers Field.
Distances include:
- 5 km - one lap
- 10 km - two laps
- Half marathon - four laps plus an additional 1.1 km loop
- Kids 1.5 km mini run
The course runs on park paths and is described as flat. Road running shoes are recommended. The route is generally accessible for buggies and is wheelchair friendly, though the course may be altered up to event day if necessary.
Timing is by chip on the bib and split times are provided for each lap. Instant race results go live on the event website. All entrants receive a medal, race chip timing, and on-site drinks and refreshments. Trophies are awarded for winners.
Practical arrangements include on-the-day registration with race pack collection, bag storage located next to the registration tents with limited space, and toilets at Coopers Field. There is car parking in and around the park but no parking within Bute Park itself and local parking may be pay and display. The organisers list Cancer Research Wales and Kidney Wales as charity partners and state that a donation from every entry fee will be given to each charity.
