Event details
The St David's Day Run takes place on 1 March 2026 at Coopers Field, Bute Park, Cardiff (CF10 3DX). The event offers multiple race distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
- Kids 1.5k
The 5k is one lap of the course, the 10k is two laps, and the half marathon is four laps plus an additional 1.1 km loop. The event supports two Welsh charities, Cancer Research Wales and Kidney Wales, with a donation from every entry fee and an option for participants to fundraise.
Entry prices listed are: half marathon £30, 10k £25, 5k £25, and kids 1.5k £10. Entries close on 22 February 2026 unless the event sells out. Entry prices include VAT and no further admin fees are applied.
Logistics and facilities
The course is path-based and described as flat; road running shoes are recommended. Buggies are allowed and the course is wheelchair friendly. The organiser provides chip-on-bib timing with split times for each lap, instant results, a medal for every finisher, drinks and refreshments, and a small number of trophies for winners.
On-site facilities include toilets at Coopers Field and bag storage next to registration (space is limited). There is no parking inside Bute Park; nearby city centre car parks and on-street parking may be pay and display.
