ABP Newport Marathon
The ABP Newport Marathon is a city-centre marathon held in Newport, Wales. The event launched in 2018 to provide a major marathon in the city. The race uses a course described as one of the UK's flattest marathon courses. Races start and finish on the riverfront in the regenerated city centre. Organisers report that around 70% of finishers have recorded a personal best time on this course.
Course and supporting races
The route passes local landmarks and landscapes, including the Transporter Bridge and the Gwent Levels, with coastal wildlife and nearby medieval villages visible along the way. The event takes place alongside shorter races on the same day, giving additional options for participants.
