About the race
The ABP Newport Marathon Festival is a multi‑race running event in Newport, Wales, scheduled for Sunday 18 April 2027. It includes a full marathon plus shorter races and associated weekend activities.

The event uses a predominantly flat route that is presented as one of the flattest marathon courses in Europe, and nearly 70% of finishers have recorded a personal best. The marathon and half marathon pass city landmarks such as the Transporter Bridge, the historic city centre with its Castle and Victorian Market, the riverfront development, and the International Sports Village. Both longer races also include stretches through the nearby Gwent Levels with coastal wildlife and medieval villages.
Race weekend includes additional activities on Saturday 17 April 2027, notably a Women’s Running Conference and a Pasta Party. The festival is organised by Run4Wales and is supported by partners including Associated British Ports and Newport City Council. The event provides race day facilities, an event village and spectator information, and relies on volunteers and partner organisations to deliver the programme.
