ABP Newport Marathon
The ABP Newport Marathon is a city centre marathon in Newport, Wales, scheduled for 19 April 2026. It is described as one of the flattest marathon courses in the UK and in Europe, which contributes to fast finishing times for many entrants.
The route passes several local landmarks, including the city’s Transporter Bridge, and runs through the Gwent Levels with coastal wildlife and picturesque medieval villages nearby. Races start and finish on the riverside in the regenerated city centre.
The event includes multiple race distances on the same day, offering alternatives to the full marathon:
- Marathon 26.2 miles
- Half marathon
- 10K
The ABP Newport Marathon launched in 2018 as a major city-centre marathon in Wales. Organisers report that a large proportion of finishers achieve personal best times on the course. The event is presented alongside supporting races and community elements that highlight Newport’s history, multicultural character, local breweries and musical heritage.
