The ABP Newport Marathon Festival takes place in Newport, Wales on 19 April 2026. The event includes race options for a Marathon - 26.2 miles, Half Marathon, 10K, and Mile & Junior races. It is delivered by Run 4 Wales (R4W) with support from partners including Associated British Ports and Newport City Council. Course and location
The route starts and finishes on Newport’s riverfront in the regenerated city centre and passes city landmarks such as the Transporter Bridge, the historic castle area and the Victorian Market. Marathon and half marathon courses also run through the Gwent Levels, noted for coastal wildlife and medieval villages. The course is described as one of the flattest marathon routes in Europe; about 70% of finishers on the route have recorded a personal best. The route was devised by a double Olympic marathon runner. Lead charity support is provided by Mind. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
