Butcombe Trail Ultra
The Butcombe Trail Ultra is a challenging trail ultramarathon held in the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK. It features two race distances: 50 miles and 50 kilometers, both self-navigation events that follow a mostly off-road route around six pubs, offering stunning countryside and panoramic views. The course starts and finishes at the Mendip Activity Centre in Churchill and runs anti-clockwise.
Organized by Bristol’s Town & Country Harriers, the event supports the Mendip Hills Fund. The race includes tracking for safety and spectator engagement and serves as a qualifier for the UTMB® series. It emphasizes inclusivity with new prize categories and requires prior trail marathon experience for the 50-mile race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
