About the race
Butcombe Trail Ultra is a pair of self-navigation ultramarathons, 50 miles and 50 kilometres, set around the Mendip Hills in Somerset, England. The official Butcombe Trail is a 47-mile loop around six pubs in the Mendips, largely off-road, offering sweeping views and varied running country as it crosses the hills. The races run anti-clockwise from the race HQ at Mendip Activity Centre and emphasize navigation and self-sufficiency.
Organised by volunteers from Town & Country Harriers to benefit the Mendip Hills Fund, the event also serves as UTMB index qualifiers. New features include on-course tracking for timing, spectator follow, and inclusive prize categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
