St. Charles Indoor Triathlon
The St. Charles Indoor Triathlon takes place at Norris Recreation Center in Saint Charles, Illinois on January 31, 2027. The event offers separate adult and youth races and directs proceeds to St. Charles Aquatics and the Multisport Madness Youth Triathlon Team.
The youth race is limited to ages 7 to 14. Registration opens October 19, 2026 and closes January 16, 2027. Registration fees listed are $50 for the adult race and $32 for the youth race.
Race format and key rules:
- Adult: Swim 10 min; Bike 20 min; Run 15 min; transitions 15 and 5 min
- Youth: Swim 5 min; Bike 15 min; Run 10 min; transitions 15 and 5 min
Athletes are assigned wave start times and must check in at least 45 minutes before their assigned wave. Each swimmer will start in an assigned pool lane and lanes are individual. Any stroke is allowed and walking in the pool is permitted if feet can touch the bottom; life jackets, floaties, paddleboards, and outside assistance are not allowed. The bike leg uses assigned stationary bikes and athletes must set their seat during transition. Standing on the bike is prohibited; a first violation results in a warning and a second violation can lead to disqualification. Run laps are credited in full and half laps, with 10 laps equaling one mile. Volunteers record distances and athletes sign a distance card after the run.
