St. Charles Indoor Triathlon
The event takes place at the Norris Recreation Center in Saint Charles, Illinois. It features two separate competitions: an adult race and a youth race. The youth event is open to participants aged 6 to 14.
The competition format is based on time, with athletes covering as much distance as possible within a set period for each discipline. Transitions between events have fixed time limits. The adult race consists of a 10-minute swim, a 20-minute bike segment on an indoor stationary bike, and a 15-minute run on a track. The youth race consists of a 5-minute swim, a 15-minute bike segment, and a 10-minute run.
Each swimmer has a dedicated lane in the pool. The bike portion uses Keiser stationary bikes, and standing on the bike is not permitted. Distances are recorded by volunteers, and runners are credited for full and half laps. The event uses a wave start system, with start times assigned by organizers and communicated to participants. Check-in is required 45 minutes before an athlete's assigned wave.
