St. Charles Indoor Triathlon
The St. Charles Indoor Triathlon is an indoor multisport event held at Norris Recreation Center in Saint Charles, IL on March 8, 2026. The event offers separate adult and youth races and directs its proceeds to local aquatics and youth multisport programs.
There are two race formats:
- Adult: Swim 10 minutes, Bike 20 minutes, Run 15 minutes.
- Youth: Swim 5 minutes, Bike 15 minutes, Run 10 minutes (limited to ages 7 to 14).
Racing uses wave starts assigned by the organizers; adults and youth have separate waves. Athletes must check in before their wave (checked-in athletes may forfeit a spot if not present in time). Each swimmer is assigned a lane and a body number. Volunteers record distances for each segment and athletes sign a distance card after the run to confirm results.
Transition times are fixed: 15 minutes to move from swim to bike and 5 minutes to move from bike to run. The bike stage uses assigned stationary bikes (Keiser brand reported), and standing on the bike is not allowed; rule violations can lead to warning or disqualification. During the run, full and half laps are counted, with 10 laps equaling one mile. Results are posted in the fieldhouse and distributed to participants after the event.
