SSM Health Walleye Run/Walk
The SSM Health Walleye Run/Walk is a long-running event, first held in 1980. It takes place at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, as part of the annual Walleye Weekend Festival. The event offers multiple run and walk options for participants of different ages and abilities.
Events include:
- A 5-mile run through Lakeside Park and the old University of Wisconsin Fond du Lac campus area.
- A 3-mile walk through Lakeside Park.
- A 2-mile run through Lakeside Park.
- A 1-mile kids run for children aged 12 and under.
- A 1/3-mile kids run for children aged 6 and under.
All events are chip-timed using a timing chip on the back of the bib number. Strollers or baby joggers are only permitted in the 3-mile walk, and pets are not allowed on the courses or within Lakeside Park.
Packet pickup for pre-registered participants is available the day before the event at Woodworth Middle School in Fond du Lac. Registration is required for all participants, and bib numbers must be worn on the front of the outermost clothing layer. Awards are given for top finishers in the 5-mile, 2-mile, and 1-mile runs, as well as for age groups in the 5-mile and 2-mile events. All finishers in the kids runs receive a certificate of completion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
