Run Away to the Bay - 55-mile team relay
The Prevea Health Run Away to the Bay is a 55-mile spring team relay that begins on the shores of Lake Winnebago in Menominee Park in Oshkosh and finishes on The City Deck in Downtown Green Bay. The course heads north along the lake, passes through Neenah and Menasha, continues via County Road A and Midway Road/Schmidt Road through Darboy and Kaukauna, then enters the Fox River Trail north of Forest Junction and follows the trail through DePere to the waterfront finish.
Teams must consist of 2 to 8 participants with a minimum age of 16. The average team pace must not exceed 12:00 minutes per mile. Teams provide their own support vehicle and may divide legs as they choose. There are no formal exchange zones; teams use a provided slap band to mark the active runner and exchange it between runners.
Event services include chip timing, a front bib for each runner, a participant shirt, a finisher medal, wristbands, finish-line food and beverage, and a mobile aid station stocked with snacks and drinks. Teams are responsible for on-board first aid supplies. Start times are seeded in early April based on each team’s reported average pace. Traffic rules apply on course; runners should use sidewalks where available and keep headphone volume low. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
