Prevea Health Run Away to the Bay

Run Away to the Bay is a seasonal relay event covering a total distance of 55 miles. The course connects the shores of Lake Winnebago in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to the waterfront in Downtown Green Bay. Participants navigate a route that passes through the Fox Cities and Calumet County, eventually joining the Fox River Trail north of Forest Junction and continuing toward the finish line on The City Deck.

The event is organized into two primary categories:

  • Team Relay: For groups of 3 to 8 runners.
  • Pairs Relay: For teams of 2 runners.

Divisions are available for Men, Women, and Mixed teams in both Open and Masters (all runners over 40) categories. Participants must be at least 16 years old, and teams are required to maintain an average pace of 12:00 minutes per mile or faster. The course closes officially in the late afternoon.

This event utilizes a mobile support model. Teams provide their own support vehicle and are responsible for managing their own exchanges, as there are no formal designated exchange zones or water stations along the route. Each team receives a "Mobile Aid Station" pack containing snacks and beverages to carry in their vehicle. A single slap band is provided to each team to be passed between active runners as a baton.

Registration includes a participant shirt, a finisher medal, a front bib for each runner, and chip timing. Food and beverages are provided at the finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
