Event Overview
This is the 10th annual SSG Michael Ollis 5K Run & Walk. The event takes place in the New Dorp neighborhood of Staten Island, with the start at the intersection of New Dorp Lane and South Railroad Avenue.
Event Details
The main event is a 5K run and walk. There is also an option to register for the Staten Island Road Racing Triple Crown, a discounted series of three local races. The Ollis 5K serves as the first leg of this series.
The course is USTAF Certified. Registration pricing increases over time.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available before the event at the SSG Michael Ollis VFW Post on 575 Mill Road. A volunteer meeting is held one week prior to the race, also at the VFW Post.
The event is organized by the SSG Michael Ollis Freedom Foundation, a not-for-profit. After covering race costs, proceeds support combat veterans re-entering civilian life. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
