Sri Chinmoy New Year's Day Half-Marathon
The Sri Chinmoy New Year's Day Half-Marathon is held on January 1, 2027 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York. The event is organized by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in cooperation with the NYC Parks Department and is staged on a USATF certified course (certification #NY22047DNB).
The course is a scenic, flat loop that passes the Unisphere, the Queens Museum of Art and the Fountain of the Planets. The half-marathon consists of a 0.36-mile start loop followed by ten 1.274-mile main loops, with mile signs posted along the route. Aid stations are provided every mile and a main aid station near Race-Day Central offers water and Skratch Hydration.
Amenities include custom long-sleeve race tops, custom finisher medals, bag check, free race photos, free parking near Race-Day Central and a post-race pancake breakfast. Packet shipping is available for a fee and on-site packet pickup is offered at the race venue.
Entries cannot be transferred and participants must be at least 16 years old on race day. A 3-hour time limit applies (minimum pace 13:45 per mile). If the event is canceled for reasons beyond the organizers' control, the race may be converted to a virtual format with shirts and finisher medals mailed to registered participants upon completion.
