Sri Chinmoy New Year's Day Half-Marathon, Flushing Meadows Corona Park
The Sri Chinmoy New Year's Day Half-Marathon is a USATF certified half-marathon held in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, New York. The course is accurately measured and described as flat and fast, laid out as a short start loop plus multiple main loops that pass the Unisphere, the Queens Museum of Art, and the Fountain of the Planets. Mile signs mark every mile and all runners' laps are counted.
Aid stations are provided every mile, with a main aid station located next to Race-Day Central offering water and Skratch Hydration. Event amenities include bag check, free parking near Race-Day Central, custom race shirts, custom finisher medals, and free finisher photos. Packet shipping is offered for an additional fee to deliver shirts and bibs before the event; on-site packet pickup is also available.
Awards are given in men's and women's age categories with specified top-place finishers in each group. A post race pancake breakfast is provided with toppings such as real maple syrup and whipped cream. The race enforces a time limit of three hours, equivalent to a 13:45 per mile minimum pace.
