Squatchy Onesiefest 5K
Squatchy Onesiefest 5K is a onesie-themed trail event held on February 14, 2027 in Mahwah, New Jersey, at the Ramapo Valley County Reservation. The course starts and finishes at the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference Headquarters and loops around Scarlet Oak Pond.
The format uses a 1.60 mile lollipop loop. Participants complete the loop twice for the 5K or once for the Fun Run. The course is flat and described as very mellow and scenic. Most of the route is wide gravel and dirt trail; a short singletrack connector under 0.20 miles links the parking area to the park. Organizers note the course is not technical and road shoes are often sufficient when conditions are dry. Trekking poles are allowed.
Included for participants are a bib with safety pins, a handcrafted finishers' medal, and access to an aid station stocked with water, Skratch, and snacks. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers, with the requirement that award recipients be wearing a onesie. The event is capacity limited to 200 participants and there is no official cutoff time.
The event provides first aid and an AED at the headquarters and offers private changing tents. Course wayfinding uses neon pink or reflective ribbon and large red directional arrows. Winter trail reports with traction recommendations are provided before race day. Accessibility notes state strong compatibility with all-terrain wheelchairs, support guides and pacers race free with prior registration, and accommodations should be requested at least three weeks before the event.
Refunds are not offered; organizer deferral policies include conditions for standard deferrals, injury-related deferrals with volunteer requirements, and extended deferrals for pregnancy, adoption, or community care concerns. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
