Squatchy Onesiefest 5K
The Squatchy Onesiefest is a winter trail event on February 14, 2027 at Ramapo Valley County Reservation in Mahwah, New Jersey. The course is a 1.60 mile "lollipop" loop around Scarlet Oak Pond that is repeated twice for the 5K distance; a single loop option is offered as a fun run. The loop is flat and non-technical, consisting mostly of wide gravel and dirt trails with one short singletrack connector under 0.20 miles.
Event capacity is capped at 200 participants. There is no course cutoff; the event ends when the last person finishes. Parking is available in the reservation parking lot; the small headquarters lot is reserved and a short woods path connects the lots. Restrooms are located in the parking area. The event uses bright ribbon and large directional arrows to mark the route, and a detailed trail report is provided before the event with winter traction recommendations.
Included items and services: bib and safety pins, a handcrafted finishers' medal, an aid station with water, Skratch, and snacks, and on-course first aid resources including an AED and menstrual supplies. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers who are wearing a onesie. The event partners with the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference.
Accessibility notes: the course is described as one of the most accessible Sassquad routes. Wide gravel trails suit all-terrain wheelchairs and ambulatory adaptive athletes; guides and pacers for adaptive athletes may register in advance and race for free.
