Spruce Railroad Run/Walk - Port Angeles, WA
The Spruce Railroad Run/Walk takes place on October 3, 2026, with a virtual option available through December 6, 2026. The event is based at the Spruce Railroad Trailhead on East Beach Road in Olympic National Park, along Lake Crescent.
The event includes the following distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Virtual Spruce Railroad Run (virtual entries accepted through December 6, 2026)
Both the 5K and 10K use an out-and-back route on the Olympic Discovery Trail alongside Lake Crescent. The course features mile markers and clear turnaround signs for each distance. Volunteers staff a water and Gatorade station at the turnarounds.
Race-day logistics note that there is no parking at the start area. Participants may be dropped off at the east side of the Lyre Bridge on East Beach Road, and shuttles run from a designated parking area in Joyce. A limited number of accessible parking spaces are available at the trailhead. Bib pickup is available at the starting area on race morning.
Results are officially timed and professional race photos are provided. Awards include overall male and female winners and first through third place in age categories; awards must be collected in person and will not be mailed. The event is organized by the Port Angeles Marathon Association and Run the Peninsula. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
