2026 Sprint to Spring 5k : Overview
The Sprint to Spring 5k takes place on March 7, 2026 at Franklin Park in Purcellville, Virginia. The event is part of the Loudoun County Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Run Your Parks Race Series and counts points toward the organizer's Year-Long 5k and Back of the Pack series and the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. Registered runners receive a finisher medal, a technical (Dri-FIT) event shirt, and chip timing. Registration for the 5k is listed at $35. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before February 25; later registrants receive shirts on a first-come, first-served basis.
Course and Logistics
The course is a certified cross-country route that meanders through much of the 200 acre Franklin Park with wooded paths and open fields. The route is on a forest trail around the park perimeter; participants should watch for tree roots. The course description notes that the 5k is one lap and the 10k is two laps. There are some hills but no major elevation gains. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered. Live results will be posted online with a race-day QR code for immediate viewing; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
