Spring Sprint 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk
The Spring Sprint 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk takes place in Alcoa at Springbrook Recreation Center, 1537 Dalton Street, TN 37701. The traditional in-person event is scheduled for April 18, 2026. A Run Anywhere virtual 5K option is available during the event window from April 4 to April 19, 2026.

Other listed event options include Sleeping But Supporting and a virtual Run Anywhere 5K. The race is the first event of the 2026 Healthy Blount Triple Crown of Running. The Triple Crown series also lists the Scholars Run on July 25, 2026 and the Reindeer Run on December 6, 2026. Participants who complete all three traditional events are eligible for Triple Crown cash awards, door prizes, and a special memento; partial eligibility for door prizes is noted for participants in the Reindeer Run plus at least one other listed event.
A portion of race proceeds supports Blount County's Special Olympics program and the Leon Berrong Scholarship Fund. All runners receive a 65/35 cotton/poly blend T-shirt; youth shirts are 50/50. Pre-race packet pickup is offered at a local store and packets may also be picked up on race day or at the Parks & Rec office for a limited period after the event.
Awards are given on-site to the top three finishers in each age division. All Fun Run/Walk participants receive a ribbon. The event provides on-site refreshments for participants. General rules state no baby strollers, bicycles, roller blades or dogs during the race and recommend against use of headsets due to traffic on the course. The RaceJoy mobile application is provided for both virtual and timed participants to monitor distance and allow remote tracking and cheers.
