2027 Spring Georgetown Memorial 5k & Half
The event takes place on May 30, 2027, in Georgetown, Washington, DC, along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path. It offers two measured race distances and a virtual run option for those who cannot attend in person. Walkers are welcome.

Both courses are out-and-back routes on the C&O Canal path. The surface is a light gravel or dirt trail with minimal elevation change and no major climbs. The 5k follows an out-and-back on the canal path; the half marathon runs along the canal as an out-and-back.
Participants receive a finisher medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before May 13; additional shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees listed for the event include early pricing through May 15 and higher rates after that date; fees increase further on race morning.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall, plus first and second place in standard age groups (19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Overall top-three finishers are not eligible to also win age-group prizes.
There are seven water stations located along the half marathon course and one water station on the 5k course. Packet pickup is available at the event. There will be no on-site race registration. National Park Service weather and safety guidelines for the venue may require postponement, cancellation, or conversion to virtual entries.
