Spring Creek Memorial Trail Run

This trail race takes place on the Spring Creek trail near the gazebo on Spring Creek Road in Steamboat Springs. It offers two marked distances and follows primitive single track, two track, and a short section of forest service road through aspen and wildflower areas along Spring Creek. The 9.5 mile course is a scenic loop that climbs about 1,750 feet in the first four miles, with most gain occurring between miles 2 and 4. That uphill section includes unimproved rocky and narrow single track and several large downed trees before a descent onto a smoother rolling downhill trail. The 5K follows the Spring Creek trail as an out and back on rolling two track and single track.

There will be one fully stocked aid station on the 9.5 mile course at about 4 miles near the Dry Lake parking area. The 5K has no aid station but will have a volunteer at the turnaround. The event is CUPLESS at the start and finish and strongly encourages handheld water bottles or hydration packs to reduce waste.

Walkers are welcome on the 5K course but not on the 9.5 mile course due to limited accessibility and finish time constraints. Pets are not allowed on the 9.5 mile course because the trail is very tight and primitive on private land. Entry is limited by a U.S. Forest Service cap on the number of participants.
