Event overview
The BQ.2 Marathon Races include two Boston-qualifying marathons held in 2026: Spring Chance BQ.2 on April 12 and Last Chance BQ.2 on September 6. Each race is limited to 300 eligible runners from across North America and other countries. The events are organized with the explicit goal of producing Boston-qualifying finishers; past editions report that over 50% of finishers meet Boston qualifying standards.
Course, field and services
Both races take place at Fabyan Forest Preserve West in Geneva, IL, about 45 minutes west of Chicago. The course is described as a flat, fast, sheltered, scenic paved loop on the Fox River Trail. Runners come from more than 30 U.S. states as well as Canada, Mexico, and additional countries. Race operations include pre-race communication, packet pickup, a course preview jog, and on-course support provided by the organizing team and volunteers.
