Spring Chance BQ.2 Marathon : Geneva, Illinois
Spring Chance BQ.2 is an April Boston qualifying marathon held at Fabyan Forest Preserve West in Geneva, Illinois. The event is limited to 300 eligible runners and is part of the BQ.2 Marathon Races series. It is organized by Boston finishers and supported by a leadership team and volunteers.
The race uses a flat, fast, sheltered, scenic paved loop on the Fox River Trail. Race services include pre race communication, packet pickup, a course preview jog, and on course support. Eligibility requirements have been waived for some entries so that any runner with a 4:30:00 or faster time may register. Runners from over 30 U.S. states, Canada, Mexico, and other countries attend the Spring and Last Chance BQ.2 races. Historically, more than half of finishers achieve Boston qualifying standards, and the races aim to produce finishes with enough time under the standard to gain entry to the Boston start line in Hopkinton.
