Spring Awakening 10k, 5k, and 1‑Mile Kids Dash : Houghton, MI
The event offers three runs along the Keweenaw Waterway on the canal bike path, with all races beginning and ending at Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton, Michigan. The course layout is an out and back that follows the bike path east along the canal.

The 10 km turnaround is near Sandpiper Drive and includes an aid station at the turnaround. The 5 km turnaround is just past East Houghton Waterfront Park. The 1‑mile kids dash turns around underneath the lift bridge. Chip timing by Superior Timing will be used for the 10 km and 5 km races. Bib and packet pick-up takes place in the park pavilion starting at 8:00 am. An aid station is provided for the 10 km run.
Participants in the 5 km and 10 km receive a race medal and a race t-shirt. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in the 5 km and 10 km races; prizes include shoes, a gift certificate, and sunglasses from Queen City Running Co.
