Sport In Action 5K Series Race 3
This event takes place at The Sheepmount in Carlisle and serves as the third race in the Castle 5K series. The course is held under UKA rules and features an officially measured route. It utilizes a combination of park paths, pavements, and quiet roads. The terrain is primarily flat with road surfaces described as generally good.
The route begins with a loop through Bitts Park before heading toward Carlisle Castle. Participants complete two laps of the castle grounds before returning to the Sheepmount Stadium. The finish line is located near the small grandstand within the stadium area. Marshals are stationed throughout the course to assist with navigation at turns.

The event is open to both affiliated and unaffiliated adult runners, as well as junior participants aged 11 to 15. A safety briefing is conducted on-site prior to the start. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers immediately following the conclusion of the race. Additional age group prizes are distributed via BACS payment following the event. Results are processed electronically and typically become available shortly after the race begins.
