Carlisle Triathlon
The Carlisle Triathlon takes place at The Sands Centre in Carlisle on 18 July 2027. A permit is listed as in progress and the event notes an expected field of about 150 competitors. Non-BTF members must purchase a race pass.
The event is a sprint triathlon with the following stages:
- 500 m swim in the pool at the refurbished Sands Centre
- 20.4 km bike out and back to the ring road at Carlisle Airport
- 4.9 km run via Eden Bridge and a Rickerby Park loop, return over Memorial Bridge
The bike and run routes are described as undulating with road and tarmac surfaces respectively. The transition area is about 20 m and includes a ramp. The triathlon is chip timed; chips and race numbers are issued at registration. All finishers receive a bespoke medal.
