Speyside Way Ultras

The Speyside Way Ultras on 15th August 2026 offers two waymarked trail race options along the Speyside Way. Runners must be over 18. The event provides route information and an official race handbook to each competitor.

Distances include:

  • 50 km, Tamdhu Distillery to Buckie via whisky country and coastal trails
  • 100 km, Aviemore to Buckie following the Speyside Way and joining the 50 km route at Tamdhu Distillery

The 50 km route is described as largely runnable with a net downhill profile and includes a climb at Ben Aigen, road sections near Fochabers, a trail to Spey Bay, and forestry trails into Buckie town centre with a coastal-path finish. The 100 km option adds an extended mountainous section from Aviemore to Tamdhu Distillery before following the same route through whisky country to the coast.

Race logistics published by the organiser include finishing cutoffs, entry limits, and entry fees. The published details state cutoff times of 18 hours for the 100 km and 10 hours for the 50 km. Entry limits are 50 for the 100 km and 250 for the 50 km. Entry fees are listed as £80 for the 100 km and £60 for the 50 km. GPX files and full route details are provided in advance to competitors.
