Speyside Way Ultras

The Speyside Way Ultras take place on 15 August 2026 and offer two distance options over trail and mixed terrain. The race has run since 1994 and attracts distance runners from a range of backgrounds.

The event offers a 50 km route that follows the Speyside Way from Tamdhu Distillery to the town centre in Buckie. The 50 km course includes sections through whisky country, a climb up Ben Aigen, road and forestry trails, a coastal path finish, and a short final climb before the finish line. The 100 km option begins in Aviemore, follows the Speyside Way through the Cairngorms, and joins the 50 km route at Tamdhu Distillery to continue to Buckie.

Practical details published for competitors include time cutoffs, entry limits, and entry fees. Cutoffs are 18 hours for the 100 km and 10 hours for the 50 km. Entry limits are 50 places for the 100 km and 250 places for the 50 km. Entry fees are £80 for the 100 km and £60 for the 50 km. Competitors must be over 18. Full route details, GPX files, and an official race handbook are provided to entrants ahead of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
