Speyside Way Ultras
The Speyside Way Ultras offers two distance options along the Speyside Way in Scotland on 15 August 2026. The original event began in April 1994 as a 50 km race and a 100 km option was added in 2021.
Two distances are available:
- 50 km: Tamdhu Distillery to Buckie via Ben Aigen, Fochabers, Spey Bay.
- 100 km: Aviemore to Buckie following the Speyside Way, joining the 50 km at Tamdhu.
The 50 km route is described as runnable with net downhill sections and a coastal finish in Buckie. The 100 km route includes an additional mountainous section from Aviemore to Tamdhu before following the 50 km course through whisky country to the coast.
Race administration details include age requirement of over 18, entry limits of 50 for the 100 km and 250 for the 50 km, and entry fees of £80 for the 100 km and £60 for the 50 km. Cutoff times are 18 hours for the 100 km and 10 hours for the 50 km. Full route details, GPX files, and an official race handbook will be provided prior to the event.
Volunteer roles support marshalling, catering, and event operations. Volunteers receive event incentives including refreshments, a high visibility vest, and an end of day gathering. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
