Event
The Speyside Way Ultras take place on 15 August 2026. The event offers two ultra-distance options that follow the Speyside Way in northeast Scotland. Competitors must be over 18 to take part. GPX route files and an official race handbook will be provided to competitors before the race.
Races and entries
- 100 km - Aviemore to Buckie via Tamdhu Distillery
- 50 km - Tamdhu Distillery to Buckie along the Speyside Way
Entry limits are 50 places for the 100 km and 250 places for the 50 km. Cutoffs are 18 hours for the 100 km and 10 hours for the 50 km. Entry fees are listed as £80 for the 100 km and £60 for the 50 km.
Routes and course features
The 50 km route follows the Speyside Way from Tamdhu Distillery to Buckie, passing whisky-producing towns, a climb at Ben Aigen, some road sections to Fochabers, a trail to Spey Bay and forestry trails before the town-centre finish in Buckie. The 50 km is described as largely runnable with a net downhill profile. The 100 km route starts in Aviemore, follows the Cairngorms section of the Speyside Way, includes an additional mountainous section to Tamdhu Distillery, then follows the 50 km route through whisky country to the Buckie coast.
