Speyside Way Ultras
The Speyside Way Ultras take place on 15 August 2026 and offer two distance options along the Speyside Way. The event includes trail, road and coastal sections across whisky country to the town centre in Buckie.
Distances
- 50 km from Tamdhu Distillery to Buckie via Ben Aigen and Spey Bay
- 100 km from Aviemore joining the 50 km route at Tamdhu Distillery to Buckie
The 50 km route is described as largely runnable and net downhill with a notable climb at Ben Aigen and a coastal finish. The 100 km option adds a mountainous section from Aviemore to Tamdhu Distillery before following the 50 km route through whisky country to the coast.
Cutoffs are 18 hours for the 100 km and 10 hours for the 50 km. Entry limits are 50 places for the 100 km and 250 places for the 50 km. Entry fees are listed as £80 for the 100 km and £60 for the 50 km. Competitors must be over 18.
Full route details, GPX files, and an official race handbook will be provided to competitors before the event. Volunteers are sought for marshalling, catering and other roles; volunteers receive event goodies, a high visibility vest and access to the finish party.
