The 10 Mile Turkey Trot is a chip-timed 10-mile road race held in Lossiemouth, Scotland. The course is Scottish Athletics approved and runs from Lossiemouth Leisure Centre out towards Lossiemouth Harbour, along coastal roads towards Covesea, then around the airbase and back into Lossiemouth. The event is not a closed-road race. A water station is provided approximately halfway. Bespoke medals are available to purchase when entering. Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers; awards are given on gun time. There are also awards for first in each age category.
Race rules, logistics and facilities
Registration and bib collection take place at Lossiemouth Sports & Community Centre, Coulardbank Rd, Lossiemouth IV31 6JU; photo ID is required for collection. Parking is available at the leisure centre and at Lossiemouth East and West Beach car parks; residential parking should be considerate. The race permit requires participants to be over 18 on race day. Running with buggies or pets is not permitted. Headphones must be bone-conducting; in-ear headphones will lead to disqualification. There is a 2.5 hour cut-off; marshals are withdrawn at cut-off times and course support ends by 11:30am. Changing facilities, showers and toilets are available at the community centre. A finish area provides a coffee vendor, water, cakes and light refreshments; basic free refreshments are provided. No bib transfers, deferrals or refunds are permitted.
