10 Mile Turkey Trot
The 10 Mile Turkey Trot takes place on 13 December 2026 and is a Scottish Athletics approved, chip timed road race covering a 10 mile course on open roads. The route starts at Lossiemouth Leisure Centre, runs out toward Lossiemouth Harbour, follows coastal roads toward Covesea, turns around the airbase and returns to Lossie. A water station is provided approximately halfway.
Registration and bib plus shoe timing chip collection are handled from the rear of Lossiemouth Sports & Community Centre, Coulardbank Rd, Lossiemouth IV31 6JU; photo ID is required to collect a race bib. There may be an option to collect a bib the day before, but the shoe timing chip must be collected on race day. Participants are asked to use the hall and facilities via the rear access on race day.
Parking is available at the leisure centre and at Lossiemouth East and West Beach car parks; parking at the leisure centre can fill quickly and car sharing is recommended. There are changing facilities, showers and toilets at the community centre; shoe covers should be worn when walking inside. A bag drop is available but the organisers accept no liability for belongings.
Bespoke medals are available to purchase at entry. Awards are given for the top three male and top three female finishers on gun time, followed by awards for the top three in each age category. Event rules include a minimum age of 18, no buggies or pets, requirement to use bone conducting headphones only, a 2.5 hour cut off with early wave allocation for those expecting to exceed two hours, and a strict no bib transfer, deferral or refund policy. Free refreshments and race photography are provided and a coffee vendor will be present at the venue. Route maps will be posted prior to the event.
