10 Mile Turkey Trot
The 10 Mile Turkey Trot takes place on 13 December 2026 as a chip timed road race on a Scottish Athletics approved course. The route starts at Lossiemouth Leisure Centre, follows coastal roads toward Lossiemouth Harbour and Covesea, loops around the airbase and returns to Lossie. The course is run on open roads. A water station is provided approximately halfway. Entrants can choose a bespoke medal option at sign up.
Race administration and collection are based at Lossiemouth Sports & Community Centre, Coulardbank Rd, Lossiemouth IV31 6JU. Photo ID is required to collect race numbers and there is an option to collect numbers the day before; exact collection details are published nearer the event. Parking is available at the leisure centre and at Lossiemouth East and West Beach car parks; participants are asked to park considerately on residential streets and car sharing is recommended.
The event permit includes specific conditions: participants must be 18 or over on race day; running with buggies or pets is not permitted; headphones must be bone conducting and in ear headphones will lead to disqualification. There is a 2.5 hour course cut off with marshals withdrawn at cut-off points and limited support after that. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers by gun time, with further age category prizes. Changing facilities, showers and toilets are available at the community centre and a bag drop is provided with no liability accepted for belongings.
