10 Mile Turkey Trot
The 10 mile Turkey Trot takes place on 13 Dec 2026 in Lossiemouth. The event is a Scottish Athletics approved, chip timed road race held on public roads rather than a closed course. The route starts at Lossiemouth Leisure Centre, runs toward Lossiemouth Harbour and along the coast toward Covesea before turning around the airbase and returning to Lossie. A water station is provided around the halfway point.
Entry options include a bespoke medal available to purchase at registration or a no medal entry. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers based on gun time, with further awards for the top three in each age category. The organiser enforces age and equipment rules: runners must be over 18 on race day, buggies and pets are not permitted, and only bone conducting headphones are allowed; in ear headphones will result in disqualification. A 2.5 hour course cut off is in place and marshals are withdrawn at advertised cut off points.
Registration and shoe timing chip collection take place at the rear of Lossiemouth Sports and Community Centre, Coulardbank Road, Lossiemouth IV31 6JU; photo identification is required to collect a bib. The centre provides changing facilities, showers and toilets; shoe covers must be worn inside. A bag drop is offered but the organiser accepts no liability for belongings. Parking is limited at the leisure centre; additional parking is available at Lossiemouth East and West Beach car parks and runners are asked to park considerately.
