Spencer Farm Wine Run 5k
The Spencer Farm Wine Run 5k is an annual event held at the Spencer Farm Winery in Noblesville, Indiana. The event offers a chip-timed 5k course that participants can choose to run or walk. Participants navigate a relatively flat route, though much of the course is on grass, resulting in a terrain similar to a cross-country style course rather than a standard road race.
Registrants receive several items as part of their entry, including a cotton t-shirt, a shatterproof wine glass, and a finisher medal that also functions as a wine stopper. Those of legal age also receive a pour of wine as part of their registration. While the event is open to participants of all ages, minors receive a registration that excludes the wine glass and pour.
The race is professionally timed and scored, with results posted online following the event. Custom age group awards are available for the top three finishers in several ten-year categories. Competitive runners who wish to be eligible for these awards must start with the first group or wave.
The event is dog-friendly, provided animals remain on a leash, although pets are not permitted inside the winery. Strollers are allowed, but the organizer notes that the uneven grass terrain may be difficult for them. Proceeds from the event benefit several charity partners, including Redemption Rescue of Indiana, the Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County, and Down Syndrome Indiana.
