Carmel Marathon Weekend
The event in Carmel, Indiana, centers on a shared start and finish area at City Center near the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts and the Carmel Arts and Design District. It offers multiple race distances on courses that use common sections and then separate routes.
The marathon course is USATF certified and described as flat and fast. Marathoners run the first 13 miles with half marathoners on mostly flat roads, then continue onto a long, shaded paved park trail that slopes slightly downhill before returning to the city center. The race has produced a high proportion of Boston qualifiers, with over 21% of finishers earning qualifying times in 2024, and it consistently ranks among the top events for Boston qualification.
Race options include:
- 26.2 Miles marathon
- 13.1 Miles half marathon
- 6.2 Miles 10K
- 3.1 Miles 5K
The 10K and 5K start together and split after about one mile; the 10K includes some early hills followed by a faster second half. The half marathon offers a cash purse plus age group awards three deep. Event amenities listed for race day include free parking, gender specific shirts, unique finisher medals per distance, a recovery pancake area, an official beer garden, and aid stations with water and Gatorade approximately every 1.5 miles.
