Spaulding Woods 50K : Northfield, NH : July 11, 2026
The Spaulding Woods 50K is a trail ultramarathon held on the grounds of Spaulding Academy & Family Services in Northfield, New Hampshire. The course is a looped format made of five 10K laps on technical singletrack that includes rocks, roots, footbridges, and short climbs and descents. The loop format keeps runners close to the start and finish area and to race support.
Support on course includes a well stocked aid station, a midpoint water station, portable toilets, and personal drop bags available at the end of each lap. The event is cupless so runners must use refillable containers. Pacers are not allowed. For safety, animals including dogs, drones, strollers, and bikes are prohibited and the use of headphones is discouraged. There is a strict eight hour cutoff to begin the fifth and final loop; runners who do not meet this cutoff will not be permitted to continue.
The race takes place on land used year round for outdoor programming and education. Spaulding Academy & Family Services is a nonprofit that provides education, therapeutic care, and outdoor programs for children and young adults; many race trails are shared with those programs.
