46th Annual Center Harbor Footrace
The Center Harbor Footrace is a long-standing community event held in Center Harbor, New Hampshire, on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. Scheduled for July 4, 2026, the event coincides with the town's Independence Day festivities, which include a parade, concert, and fireworks. All race activities, including registration and packet pick-up, are centered at the Center Harbor Town Hall on Main Street.
The event offers several distances and categories for different age groups:
- 5 Mile race for adults
- 1.776 Mile race for adults
- Kids Races for ages up to 12
- Baby Crawl
The adult races utilize automatic timing provided by Granite State Racing Services, with results accessible via mobile devices shortly after the run. For these races, participants use chip-coded bibs that must be worn on the front of the chest. The course for the adult events begins on Main Street, which is closed to vehicle traffic for the start of the competition.
Children's races are organized by age group, starting with the oldest participants and ending with the Baby Crawl. These events take place in the area adjacent to the Town Hall and Library. All participants in the children's categories receive prize ribbons. Awards for the adult 1.776 mile and 5 mile races are presented at the town Bandstand after the conclusion of the 5 mile event.
