Locke Lake-a-Thon

The Locke Lake-a-Thon is the first annual community event organized by the Locke Lake Colony Association on July 4, 2026. It is a noncompetitive run, walk, or bike event that follows paths around Locke Lake and uses local recreation areas for start and finish locations.

The event uses Lodge/Pool 1 at 43 Colony Drive in Center Barnstead, NH, as the primary gathering location. Two course options are offered:

  • 4.5 miles: full lap, returns to 43 Colony Drive.
  • 2.5 miles: half lap, finishes at North Barnstead Beach.

The half course finishes at North Barnstead Beach. Parking is available on Monroe Drive, across from Varney Road. Participants are responsible for arranging their own return from the half-course finish area if needed. Registration for the event is free.

The description of the courses notes that the full route completes a full circuit of Locke Lake while the half route covers approximately half the lake and finishes at a different location. The event is presented as a community activity intended to encourage local outdoor activity during the July 4th weekend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
