Southern Utah Half Marathon
The Southern Utah Half Marathon is a road race held March 27, 2027, that starts at Highland Park in Washington, UT and finishes at Bloomington Park in St. George, UT. The course is paved and follows a largely downhill route along the Virgin River Trail, beginning with a steep descent for the first four miles that drops roughly 500 feet, then continuing with a gradual decline for the remaining distance. The event covers 13.1 miles and each mile is marked.
Aid stations are located near several mile markers, and stations provide water and energy products; porta potties are available at multiple aid locations. The race uses chip timing with timing chips on the back of bibs. A gear drop service will transport bags from the start to the finish; items should be bagged and labeled with the race number. All clothing left along the course and at aid stations will be donated.
Packet pick-up is at the St. George Running Center on the Friday before the race, with no race day packet pick-up. Shuttle buses operate between Bloomington Park and Highland Park, and organizers note limited shuttle capacity and restricted parking in the start neighborhood. The course has a 4 hour cutoff; finisher medals are awarded only to half marathoners who finish under that time. Awards are given to top finishers overall and by age category.
