Southern Utah Half Marathon
The Southern Utah Half Marathon is a paved point-to-point half marathon scheduled for March 20, 2027. The course begins at Highland Park in Washington, UT and finishes at Bloomington Park in St. George, UT. Runners pass along the Virgin River Trail and have views that include the sun rising over Zion National Park in the distance.
The route is almost entirely downhill. The course drops roughly 500 feet over the first four miles and then continues with a gradual decline for the remaining miles. Each mile is marked and the event is chip timed. Aid stations are located near miles 2.25, 4, 6, 8.5, 10.5 and 11.75 and provide water plus sports nutrition products; porta potties are available at several aid stations. A gear drop is available at the start; participants should label bags with their race numbers.
Packet pick-up is at the St. George Running Center on the Friday before the race. There is no race day packet pick-up. Shuttle buses transport participants from the finish area to the starting area and a drop-off zone is provided at Highland Park. Parking is available at Bloomington Park and Bloomington Elementary School; some streets and neighborhoods are closed to parking. The finish line awards include overall and age group prizes, and finisher medals are given to half marathoners who complete the course within the four hour cutoff. The course is subject to change to ensure a full 13.1 mile distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
