Event overview
The Southern Paws Animal Rescue 5K is the 6th annual 5k held at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens in Mount Pleasant, SC. The race is a benefit for Southern Paws Animal Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization that rescues abused and neglected animals, provides medical recovery and long-term care, and works with law enforcement on animal cases.

Registration and packet pickup
Registration closes May 5, 2026. There are two registration options: standard entry or registration plus bringing a bag of animal food (dog, cat, goat, deer, or horse) to the event, which reduces the entry fee by $10. Late registration and packet pickup are available on May 8 at Charleston Sports Pub, 1909 North Highway 17, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Packet pickup is also available the morning of the event from 7:00 AM until 7:30 AM. Shirts are guaranteed for those who register by April 15, 2026.
Logistics and policies
Restrooms will be available near the start/finish line. Parking will be off Highway 17 in the same area used for other local events. The event will take place rain or shine. No refunds will be issued and registrations are not transferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
