Southern Paws Animal Rescue 5K
The event is the 6th annual 5k held at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens in Mount Pleasant, SC on May 9, 2026. It is a benefit for Southern Paws Animal Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization that rescues abused and neglected animals, provides medical care and rehabilitation, works with law enforcement on animal welfare cases, and maintains animals in long-term care when needed.
Two registration options are offered: a standard paid entry or registration plus a donated bag of animal food (Dog, Cat, Goat, Deer, or Horse), which reduces the registration fee by $10. Registration closes on May 5, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. Shirts are guaranteed for those who register by April 15, 2026.
Packet pickup is available at Charleston Sports Pub (1909 North Highway 17, Mount Pleasant) on Friday, May 8 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, and there is a short pickup window the morning of the event. Restroom facilities will be available near the start and finish area. Parking will be located off Highway 17 in the same area used for nearby community events.
The event will take place rain or shine. No refunds or registration transfers will be issued. Late registration is handled at Charleston Sports Pub on May 8 during the stated packet pickup hours. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
