Southern Oregon Runners Turkey Trot
The Southern Oregon Runners Turkey Trot takes place in Talent, Oregon, on Thanksgiving day. The event base is located at 300 W Valley View Rd. This annual athletic gathering serves as a fundraiser for student runner programs, including initiatives that provide shoes for youth athletes and timing support for local cross country seasons. The event also hosts a food drive to benefit the SOU food bank.
Participants can choose from several different distances:
- 8 Mile Run
- 5k Run/Walk
- 2 Mile Family Run/Walk
- Turkey Dash (Free for children age 8 and under)
The courses utilize public roads and trails that remain open to vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists during the event. For safety and logistics, dogs, bicycles, skateboards, and skates are not permitted on the course. All registered participants receive a custom race bib and a finisher's medal. There are no specific age group awards provided.
Pre-race packet pickup is available the day before the event at a local taphouse in Talent, with an additional pickup window on the morning of the races. Registration is conducted exclusively online as there is no in-person registration available at the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
