Longest Night Mile
The Longest Night Mile is a one mile running event held at the Phoenix High School track in Phoenix, Oregon (745 N Rose St, 97535). The course consists of four laps around the high school track.
Runners are organized into six pace-based heats to reduce crowding: Heat 1 (5:30 min pace and under), Heat 2 (5:31–6:00), Heat 3 (6:01–6:45), Heat 4 (6:46–8:00), Heat 5 (8:00–10:00), and Heat 6 (10:00 and up). An additional heat was added and the early heat ranges were narrowed to reduce field density.
Entry options include donating two to three or more boxes of dry cereal for the SOU Student Food Pantry, or paying an online fee of $13 or a day-of fee of $15 (cash or check). A portion or all entry fees and cereal donations are designated for the SOU Student Food Pantry. Registration opens March 1, 2026 and closes December 20, 2026.
Awards include ribbons for the top three places in all age groups. There is a $100 prize for any male winner who runs under 4:10 and any female winner who runs under 4:50.
Restrictions on the track during the event include no roller skaters, bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, dogs, headphones, or unregistered participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
