Pear Blossom Run overview
The Pear Blossom Run is an annual community road race organized by the Rogue Valley Family YMCA in Medford, Oregon. The event is held on the second Saturday of April with packet pick up on the Friday before the race at the YMCA located at 522 West Sixth Street. A community meal is offered the evening before at the United Methodist Church across Main Street from the YMCA.
Race offerings include multiple distances:
- 5K course within Medford city limits
- 10 Mile course with one hill
- 1 mile Mayor's Cup fun run
- 2 mile Mayor's Cup fun run
The 5K and 10 Mile courses are USAT&F certified. Both 5K and 10 Mile events are chip timed with timing chips affixed to the back of the race bib. Course time limits apply: the 5K has a 60 minute limit and the 10 Mile has a 160 minute limit. Course monitoring, support services, and finish timing stop at each course time limit.
Accessibility and race rules are specified. Wheelchairs and baby strollers are allowed; animals, skateboards, bicycles, and skates are not permitted. Special wheelchair and handcrank timing is offered for the 10 Mile event and special parking is provided for those athletes. Restrooms and water stations are provided along the course. Awards include medals for 5K and 10 Mile finishers and ribbons for Mayor's Cup finishers; top male and female finishers in the 5K and 10 Mile receive gift certificates.
