Southern Lakes Half Marathon and 10km
The Southern Lakes event in Wanaka, New Zealand, comprises two road races: a 21 km half marathon and a 10 km run/walk. Both courses start on Cardrona Valley Road above Wanaka; the half marathon start is about 21 km up the valley road and the 10 km start is about 10 km up the same road. Organisers provide bus transfers from Wanaka to the start areas and a trailer service to return labelled gear from both start areas to the finish.
Race packs are available for collection on the Friday before the event and there is late pack pick-up at the event start. Final briefings are held at each race and all competitors must attend. No event entries are accepted on race day. Drink stations are located roughly at 5 km, at the halfway point, and with about 5 km remaining; stations will offer water and Tailwind electrolyte in compostable cups and marshals will trial refilling runners' reusable cups from jugs.
Entry limits apply; the event typically fills in advance. Published standard entry fees for adults and juniors vary by distance and a late fee policy is stated. Highland Events publishes a refund policy that allows an 80% refund if a withdrawal is made more than two weeks before race day, with limited transfer options nearer the event.
