Southend Half Marathon
The Southend Half Marathon, organised by Havens Hospices, takes place on 13 June 2027 at East Beach, Shoeburyness SS3 9AD. Now in its third decade, the race has sold out for the past three years and has raised over £2 million for the Essex based charity.
The event is a half marathon run on a flat, two lap road course along the seafront with views over the Thames Estuary. The route is closed to traffic and wheelchair athletes are welcome. The race regularly attracts over 2,500 runners and numerous spectators who line the seafront and the start and finish area at East Beach.
This race is a major fundraising event for Havens Hospices. The Haven Hero entry includes a £15.50 donation which could help cover the cost of half an hour of essential care at the hospice. Event features listed for race day include qualified sports therapists offering massages and treatments for £15, a meet and greet area, a main stage with live performances and music, pacers, and a runners village with food and drink stalls.
What is included for entrants are changing facilities, a bespoke medal, and free parking at East Beach Car Park. England Athletics event licence number is listed as TBC.
