Southend Rudolph Run
The Southend Rudolph Run is a seasonal running event held adjacent to Ness Road on the Esplanade in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. The event includes a 5 Mile race and a Junior Scurry (One Mile). The course is described as fast, flat and largely on tarmac path and promenade, and the route is accurately measured.
Race information includes downloadable route maps and GPX files. Race headquarters are located on the promenade adjacent to Ness Road. Parking is available adjacent to the Race HQ and along the promenade. The closest railway station is Thorpe Bay, around one mile from the Race HQ.
The event supports two charities: Havens Hospices and Shelter. Havens Hospices provides specialist care and bereavement support for babies, children and young people and their families. Shelter works to defend the right to a safe home and to address the housing emergency.
Included for participants are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. The event features a festive and friendly atmosphere, a Junior Scurry of One Mile and opportunities for fancy dress. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
