Southend Rudolph Run
The Southend Rudolph Run is a festive seasonal event held in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. The accurately measured course consists of a fast and flat route along tarmac paths and the promenade, starting and finishing adjacent to Ness Road on the Esplanade.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 Mile
- 1 Mile (Junior Scurry)
The event is known for its festive atmosphere, and participants are encouraged to wear fancy dress and santa hats. The course profile is designed to be level, making it accessible for a variety of participants. The venue includes a Race HQ located directly on the promenade.
The race serves as a fundraiser for Havens Hospices, which provides specialist care for families and young people, and Shelter, an organization dedicated to defending the right to a safe home.
Registered entrants receive a bespoke medal and access to free race photographs. Trophies and prizes are also awarded to the leading runners. For those traveling to the venue, parking is available along the promenade and adjacent to the Race HQ. The nearest railway station, Thorpe Bay, is approximately one mile from the event site.
